Booking request vs. confirmed booking: what is the difference?
Explains that submitting the website request form is not a confirmed reservation, and what steps complete a booking.
Many guests assume that sending a request through our website means their tour is booked. This is not the case. Submitting the form only creates a booking request — it is not yet a confirmed reservation.
How the process works
- You submit a request through our website form, choosing your tour, date, number of participants and pick-up option.
- We check availability and reply by email with a detailed quote.
- To confirm, you reply to that email and complete payment using the link we send you.
- Once payment is received, we issue your voucher, and the pick-up time follows separately (usually the afternoon before).
Why this matters
If you have only submitted a request and not received and paid a quote, you do not have a confirmed tour — even if the form showed options such as hotel pick-up.
- A request does not guarantee availability for the date you selected.
- Because a request is not a booking, there is nothing to cancel if you only submitted a request — you can simply let it lapse or tell us to disregard it.
- Options shown in the form (such as hotel pick-up or equipment rental) are not guaranteed until your booking is confirmed for the specific day and tour.
If you are unsure whether your tour is confirmed, contact us with your request number and we will check your status.
